In the Old Testament, on several occasions, God chose a Remnant, an ELECT group who would carry forward His plans: He had to make such a selection because no one sought Him and His righteousness. The Scriptures declare that there is none good, that no one seeks after God, and except that God sovereignly ‘elected’ some for His own purposes, no one would be saved! It is unthinkable that God would deny salvation to anyone that sought Him and His righteousness! So, we need not fret over God’s having elected, decreed that a Remnant would be saved, for had He not done so, no one would be saved! Further more, there is a greater opportunity/chance that others, beside the elect, will be saved, because of the testimony, the observed lifestyles of the elect!
